Australian illustrator, Eamo Donnelly is best known down under for his intricate hand inked, character driven illustrations that fuse an eclectically dynamic, techno pop colour palette with a true blue Aussie cheekiness. Having worked for the past 4 years extensively in the American editorial market, Eamo has illustrated for some of the world's most recognizable publications and brands including Advertising Age, American Airlines, American Way, Billboard, Bloomberg Businessweek, Blender, CBS Interactive / Chow com, Complex, D Magazine, Edible San Francisco, ESPN, GQ, King magazine, Maxim, Men's Health, Monument, Mountain Dew, Newsweek, Nike 6 0, Orange Coast Magazine, Playboy, Radar Magazine, Redbull, RipCurl, Rolling Stone, Runners World, and VH1.

As well as commercial commissions abroad, Eamo's love affair for Australian nostalgia prompted him to create personal works that reflected the beauty and uniqueness of the culture he grew up in. He exhibited his first ever solo show in 2010 titled 'Health Food of a Nation!' at Lamington Drive Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. His detailed and colourful works have been seen on Jeeps for Mountain Dew, wallets for Poketo in L.A, shoes for The String Republic in France, T-Shirts for Owl Movement in Florida, Esky's, Stubby Holders, Clocks, bar walls, street posters and in group exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney, United States and the United Kingdom.

In 2009 and 2010 he was short listed and later nominated for Best Original Illustration in the Australian Desktop Create Awards. His illustrated campaign with Y & R New York "The Wonderful World of VH1" won Silver for Illustration and Print at the 2010 International Cannes Lions, and won Gold for Campaign at the 2010 Clio Awards in New York City. In 2010 Eamo was invited to be a speaker at the 25th Anniversary of Melbourne's International Design Conference AGIdeas and was featured in the 25th Anniversary AGIdeas book. His work has been featured in Desktop, Computer Arts, EMPTY, Semi-Permanent, The Weekly, MX, The Vine, King magazine, Thunder Chunky, WeAreTheImageMakers, Great Big Book of Fashion Illustration, AGIdeas 25th Anniversary, Graphic Design 1E by McGraw Hill, threethousand, Attitude, Acclaim, Academy For Men and arts features in The Age.

He is represented in Australia by illustration agency The Jacky Winter Group in Melbourne and in the United States by Illustration agency Gerald & Cullen Rapp in New York, alongside one of his childhood hero's MAD Magazine icon, illustrator and cartoonist Jack Davis.

He lives and works in a heritage listed 1913 era shop front, which quite possibly could have been a Milkbar at one stage. His mum worked in Dave's Milkbar in the East of his home town in the 1980's. Dave's is the inspiration for his Milkbar nostalgia.

"Eamo revels in a knowing brand of Australiana—a suburban social content raddled with a sly humour. There is always something of a wink to the viewer in his illustrations. His enjoyment in the looking and doing carries to the viewer. Eamo sells his vision with humour and great technical skill. He employs a subdued palette, geared to flatten image and respect text. While he homogenises colours on grey scale, the colour range is intended to generally flatten content by achieving a balance that art directors admire."
Michael Desmond, Senior Curator at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, Australia.
Design Reporter 2009.

"Donnelly has been incredibly successful with his style of psychedelic nostalgia. Inkbrushed details of Strine culture from the '70s and '80s — lifeguards, the Big Things, flora and fauna — are carefully layered before a sunkissed Australian palette is digitally added."
Dylan Rainforth, 'Taking a crack at Aussie blokes' The Age 2009.

"Eamo, the Australian artist who created the illustrations for "Best of 2010" including one for the best bargain theater, shares the yankee affection for Junior Mints, but had to leave out any reference to choc tops, an Australian cinema ice cream treat."
Orange Coast Magazine, USA, 2010.
